Philippians 1

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
same in the lines of Jude#24
9-11
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
We feel so excited when we start walking with God. Only relying on that feeling will either make us slip or make us feel drudgery. Paul encourages us to outgrow shallow love with knowledge and insight. The only way we'll be able to discern the best course of action is with that insight and knowledge. Then we'll be blameless on Christ's day. Living that way will bring glory and praise for God.
We usually take love as a feeling. Here Paul shows love is a verb. Our love should propel us to pursue knowledge and insights to live a blameless life to bring glory and praise to God. Love is not passive but active.
Much like the mustard seed that Jesus talked about in Mathew 13#31-32, love starts as a seed but grows into the large life that brings glory to God. It makes us live a purposeful life.
