In Oct'2024 we (my sister and I) visited with our families. We spent two nights and three days, and let me tell you, it was a blast! The resort offers a variety of rooms, just like you’d expect from a top-notch getaway. We chose a room with a jacuzzi and another with a pool facing the lake. Talk about luxury! The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, reflecting the charming old Tirunelveli architecture.

The staff? They are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. And let’s talk about the food! We opted for a package that included all three meals, and oh boy, was it delicious! We thought we wouldn’t eat much, but every dish was so tasty that we couldn’t resist.

Our time at Anantya Resort was nothing short of amazing. It’s a place where relaxation meets luxury, and every moment is filled with joy. So, if you’re looking for a getaway that rejuvenates your spirit and brings your family closer, Anantya Resort is the place to be!

What we did

We checked into Anantya Resort on Tuesday evening around 2 o'clock. The drive here was smooth, this place is well connected! As soon as we arrived, they had a delicious meal waiting for us. We kicked things off with a scrumptious feast, and for dessert, we savored the delightful Kerala ada payasam. What a treat!

After that wonderful meal, we took some time to unwind and unpack. By 4 o'clock, we were ready for some fun in the sun, so we headed to the swimming pool. Now, let me tell you about this pool! It’s designed in such a way that when you’re swimming, it feels like you’re gliding in endless water. It connects beautifully with the horizon of the lake, creating a magical experience. We had a blast swimming and enjoying the water.

As night fell, we gathered around for dinner. It was a lovely time filled with laughter and conversation, as we shared stories and prepared for the next day’s adventures.

Early next morning at 6:09 am, we were to watch the sunrise. It was beautiful watching sun rise over mountain, and lake reflecting the early morning sun rays. It was a perfect start to a day.

After breakfast, we set off for a plantation drive to explore the rubber plantation.

Our driver, Adarsh, was a treasure trove of knowledge! His father worked in a rubber plantation, so he shared fascinating stories and insights with us. We snapped few pictures at different spots, capturing the beauty of the plantation. After our adventure, we returned for lunch and then, guess what? Back to the pool we went! We took tons of pictures, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Later, we strolled down to the lake for a bit, where we could take more pictures and enjoy the scenery. There was even a swing on the banks of the lake, adding to the fun!

On our final day, we enjoyed another hearty breakfast, and now it’s time to pack up and head home. What an unforgettable getaway it has been!

Discovering the Wonders of Rubber Plantations

On the second day of our stay at the Anantya Resort, we decided to visit their rubber plantation. You have to pay additionally for it, but it’s worth every penny! We’ve been to tea estates and coffee estates before, but this was our first time exploring a rubber estate. And what a sight it was!

This plantation stretches over a whopping 1,000 acres! When we arrived, the workers had already tapped the tree collecting the rubber. They start their day bright and early at 6 AM, tapping the trees for the rubber milk, and they keep at it until about 10 AM. They gather this precious liquid in pots, and it’s all part of a well-oiled process.

It takes about seven years for a rubber tree to grow before it starts producing. But once it does, you can milk it for up to 45 years! That’s what I call a long-term investment! Imagine the returns you get from just one rubber tree over its lifetime.

We learned that they have rubber saplings that, once they grow, are grafted with a mother plant. This mother plant is specifically grown just for this purpose. It’s like having a wise old tree that helps the younger ones thrive! They sell these grafted plants, and they also plant them right there in the estate.

The process of collecting rubber is quite interesting too. They cut the bark in semicircles, starting from one side of the tree and working their way down. After about seven years, they move on to the next semicircle and repeat the process. For 45 years, they can keep harvesting that sweet rubber milk!

Inside the plantation, there’s a factory where they process the rubber into sheets of different qualities. They sort it into first, second, third, and even fourth quality, and then ship it off to make all sorts of rubber products.

So, if you ever find yourself at the Anantya Resort, make sure you don’t miss out on this adventure. It’s a fantastic way to connect with nature and learn something new!
